Ski for Hope Nordic Challenge
The Inaugural Ski For Hope Nordic Challenge will be held on March 10th, 2012 on the East Side Nordic trails in Crested Butte, Colorado!
All proceeds will benefit Living Journeys.
Bib pick-up and same day registration will be 8am to 9:30am at the Nordic Center 620 2nd Street. After 9:30 please go to the Town Ranch. Ski-A-Thon participants may register as late as 11:30am.
The Nordic Challenge will include a 25k competitive race throughout the East Side trails- including Middle Earth and Mordor. Prizes for top finishers and best costumes will be awarded. There will also be a Ski-A-Thon at the Town Ranch 3k loop. This will be a fun event for all ages and abilities! Participants will be encouraged to collect pledges-per-lap and prizes will be awarded for most funds raised. Registration fee is $30. Kids 12 and under are $10. The 25k race starts at 10am and the Ski-A-Thon starts at 10:30am. Skate or classic- your choice.
There will be also be a kids 3k race starting at 10:30! Kids can do the race and then keep going with the ski-a-thon if they like. No need to register separately.

The Mission of Ski For Hope is to use skiing as an avenue to raise local awareness and funding for those challenged with cancer. Ski For Hope will work locally with Living Journeys in the Gunnison Valley hosting ski races and non-competitive ski events that will raise funds. The funds will be used to offer emotional and financial support to our friends and neighbors living with cancer. Skiing represents to us a metaphor for hope and positive forward movement during the tough moments. We hope to inspire you to ski for a greater cause and make a difference. Ski For Hope!
