Experiencing the loss of a loved one is one of life’s most profound challenges. To provide comfort and guidance during this journey, Gunnison Valley Health Hospice and Living Journeys have partnered to launch a free, 10-week Bereavement Support Group. This program is designed to foster healing and connection for community members navigating grief.
The group will meet every Monday from September 15 to November 17, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Home Medical Services Office at 1498 W. Tomichi Suite B in Gunnison. Open to all community members, regardless of whether the loss is related to cancer, hospice, or another cause, this safe and compassionate space aims to provide peer support and professional guidance for those working through grief.

What to Expect
Led by experienced facilitator Hannah Lang, CTRS, MA, the Bereavement Support Group offers a structured yet empathetic environment. Participants will engage in guided discussions and activities tailored to help them process their loss meaningfully. Both facilitators bring unique expertise to the group, ensuring a supportive and well-rounded experience.

Hannah Lang is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with over 15 years of experience helping individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses. A second-year master’s student in social work at the University of Denver, Hannah incorporates mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based practices to empower individuals as they navigate life’s challenges.

How to Join
Participation in the Bereavement Support Group is free, but pre-registration is required to ensure an intimate and supportive setting. Space is limited to eight participants, so early registration is encouraged.
