Today, we’re inspired to share Part II of Erinn’s video—a powerful story of strength, hope, and community. In 2022, after losing her husband Luke to cancer, Erinn was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Through every challenge, it’s the generosity of people like you that gives her the strength to keep going. This holiday season, your support ensures that no one in our community has to face cancer alone.
“When you donate to Living Journeys, your support stays here. You see the impact on community members, friends, and neighbors.”
This year, after six chemotherapy treatments and radiation, Erinn made the unimaginable decision to have a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy. Though the surgeries slowed the cancer for a time, she now endures months of infusions with the same unwavering strength. “Living Journeys has risen to the occasion to help (me) not once but twice… it plays an essential role in our community.”
For Erinn, Living Journeys and this community is behind her, every step of the way. When Luke was battling cancer, Erinn leaned on Living Journeys’ Therapy Program to stay grounded through the chaos.
Now, as she faces her own diagnosis, she relies on Financial Grants to keep the bills under control, the Transportation Program to reach lifesaving treatment, the Food Program to nourish her body, and the Enrichment Program for Cold Cap Therapy so she does not lose her hair during chemotherapy.
“The phrase ‘no one should fight cancer alone’ is about community—coming together and supporting one another. That is exactly what Living Journeys has done for me.”
Today, Erinn receives monthly infusion treatments to slow the spread of cancer throughout her body. Though each session leaves her feeling exhausted, she remains optimistic, knowing they bring her one step closer to healing. “What gives me hope is knowing that tomorrow is a new day and that there’s kindness out there and that every step of the way I have Living Journeys.”
We at Living Journeys are proud to support people like Erinn—and maybe even you. It’s because of generous supporters that our work is possible. If it’s within your means to give this year, you can do so HERE.
Every act of support this holiday season strengthens our community and ensures no one faces cancer alone. Thank you.
