Therapy
Living Journeys offers Private Therapy as one of its core client support initiatives. This program covers the cost therapy sessions with a licensed therapist or counselor of the client’s choice.
How we help
Living Journeys offers private therapy grants and referrals to therapist partners for all clients and their family members. We want to ensure that no one has to go through cancer alone.

How private therapy works
Living Journeys offers Private Therapy as one of its core client support initiatives. This program covers the cost of therapy sessions with a licensed therapist or counselor of the client’s choice. Private therapy is available to all Living Journeys clients, as well as their families and caregivers.
Approved applicants receive 5-10 initial therapy sessions with the provider of their choosing. Additional sessions may be granted on a case-by-case basis, based on individual need.
Private therapy support is available throughout every stage of the cancer journey—whether you are currently in treatment, in recovery, supporting a loved one, or grieving the loss of someone to cancer.
Living Journeys maintains a list of local private therapists (see below) for you to consider, or you may choose to work with a qualified therapist not currently listed. If you have questions about choosing a therapist, please call 970-349-2777.
Therapists and other resources
Below is a list of licensed professional therapists in the Gunnison Valley who support cancer patients, caregivers, children, and other family members. These professionals provide essential tools to help individuals navigate the fear, anxiety, and stress that can accompany a cancer diagnosis. Please note that this list is not comprehensive, as Gunnison Valley is home to many highly qualified therapists. Clients who prefer to work with a licensed professional not listed here are encouraged to contact our staff for assistance.
Living Journeys collaborates with a number of therapist partners to offer counseling and mental health support for our clients. These providers operate independently, and while we appreciate their willingness to support our community, Living Journeys has not formally vetted all providers. Participants are encouraged to consider their own preferences and needs when determining whether a therapist is the right fit for them.
